AOE is a specialised provider of complex custom software, digital platforms and AI‑based solutions, headquartered in Wiesbaden and employing around 200 people. The company’s strategic focus lies on connected industries, particularly the telecommunications sector, which is characterised by high IT complexity, regulatory requirements and rapidly growing data volumes.

AOE supports clients in the development, modernisation and scaling of business‑critical IT systems, with a strong emphasis on cloud architectures, data‑driven platforms and artificial intelligence. In telecommunications projects, AOE delivers solutions for process automation, intelligent analysis of large data sets, system integration, and the enhancement of core customer and service platforms. A growing share of project activity relates to AI‑based use cases, including efficiency gains, decision support and improvements in customer experience.

In addition to its services business, AOE develops proprietary technology solutions, including cloud platforms (such as Kloudease) as well as software for digital services and business support systems. As a result, the company is well positioned in markets that benefit from long‑term structural growth drivers such as cloud migration, digital connectivity, rising software complexity and the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence.

Ragnar Geerdts

Managing Director

Ragnar Geerdts joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2012 and became a Managing Director in 2017.

Ragnar Geerdts has over 13 years of experience in private equity. He has extensive knowledge of the automotive supplier and telecommunications industries and in mechanical and plant engineering. He was involved in numerous investments and disinvestments and led the investment process in in-tech, vitronet, netzkontor, von Poll Immobilien, BTV Multimedia, Solvares, DING and DGA. In these companies he sits on the advisory councils. Before joining Deutsche Beteiligungs AG Ragnar Geerdts worked in the area of M&A at Bayer AG and at Deutsche Post AG.

He holds a degree in Business Administration from Freie Universität Berlin, and also studied at the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
