Avrio Energie, Frankfurt/Main (Germany)

Biogas platform

Profile

Avrio Energie generates renewable energy from biomass through its asset portfolio. Its biogas plant portfolio focuses on feeding biomethane (renewable natural gas) into the German natural gas grid, thereby contributing to decarbonisation in power generation, the transport sector, the buildings energy sector and the chemical industry. In line with the principles of the circular economy, the biomethane is produced through the anaerobic digestion of agricultural products and residues, organic waste and animal manure. The resulting digestate is subsequently returned to agriculture and used as fertilizer. Across this value chain, Avrio Energie helps improve the CO₂ footprint of its biomethane customers, supporting a profitable business model that is being further expanded through the acquisition and conversion or expansion of additional biogas plants.
